Our Vision

The vision of The Open Road Theatre is to create a self-funded, non-profit, theatre arts education performance company for all ages residing in the Rochester, New York, Kentucky and Massachusetts communities.

The Open Road Theatre’s vision is rooted in how theatre truly began: a small village of people gathered around a fire to tell stories of their daily activities, their adventures, and their heritage.

Every person who comes to an Open Road Theatre production becomes a member of our village sitting around the fire of our multi-cultural, diverse actors’ and tech crew’s imaginations.

Together, as a village, our theatre artists’ inspired storytelling with our audience’s creative visualization spark ORT’s fireside stories to life for the benefit of all who participate, as we build stronger, healthier communities for everyone.
